MY Netbook Reflection....

This year there have been many reasons to why I really enjoy having my very own netbook to work on. The thing I hate about this netbook is If the netbook scheme fails it would be very frustrating for me and also for the people that have their netbook getting fix. Which would mean to go back to the old school stile paper and pencil. It will be quiet hard to post interesting projects and presentation on our blogs if the netbook scheme failed we won’t be having our own device to use during schools hours.

The biggest challenge for me having my own netbook is to try not to get my laptop broken at all times, which I don’t want to happen. Definitely my other challenge is to try to charge my own work so that I can get a better Education, For the next few years of school!

There are a few dislikes that I do not want to happen to my netbook and it has to do with problems. What I didn’t like about my netbook is sometimes it just doesn’t work that well and it plays up most often. Another problem is if I try to go on a web site using the URL it will load for a very long time, and the network would fail. Sometimes I then try to load up Google Chrome it takes for long and by the time it loads I find it very very frustrating.

I think that if the netbook Pilot Scheme was failed and if I was back to pen and paper I would feel very disappointed. The reason why I would feel disappointed is because I don’t get the ideas of computers and I would like to learn how to use a computer properly.

My Highlights At Camp Bentzon.

My Highlight at Camp Bentzon was being able to face my fears at the abseiling wall, also the Con course (also known as Confidants Course). It was a very awesome experience of nature on the island as well. The fairy ride was awesome but the luggage carrying not so much, The cabins were great the food that Mr Coop cooked was super super great but also the hike it was just of the limit for me! I wonder if anyone else liked the hike? I had an awesome time together with my team KAWAU! and I wish them all the very best for the future.

With great anticipation I was hoping to see all my friends back at school, all of a sudden hardly any of them came. It was a very hard choice to make because some of the other kids were annoying or maybe just not my type of friends. My friends maybe the only people that will be with me when I’m alone, unless I make them upset or even sad, “I HOPE IT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN.”
This topic is all about coming back to school also my friends not turning up to school. “Well lets get to the story,” it was alright having most my friends not at school with me. As long as I had other people to play with, I like the other kids that I was playing with, they were also my kind of friends, I guess I was wrong how I said back then the other kids were annoying or maybe just not my type of friends.
Having your friends not at school is not a problem, as long as you have someone to play with. I really liked playing with the other kids, it even turned out to be an very exciting day.

Have you ever danced on a stage in front of hundredths of people? Well I have and it was a scary experience. Reason why, is because that was my first time performing in front of a large group of audience, to make matters worse in front of complete strangers. Anyways lets get back to the story. As soon as we got there, the fist thing we did when we got into town was, we had to look for our great looking group. “We even got lost”, that was the worst nightmare I’ve ever had. We had to go looking for everyone, they were still coming on the train, But luckily we saw Peter at the train station. As soon as the group got into town we were all excited to be in town.
I wonder if my friends been dancing on stage? “but yeah” I LOVE DANCING! That was an really nice day that time, well it did turn out to be an nice day and also it was fun.

This is the story of how I died, don’t worry this is actually a fun story, and the truth is, it isn’t even mine. This is the story of a girl, named Rapunzel,and it’s starts with the sun. Now once upon a time, a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens, and from this single drop of sun grew a magic, golden, flower.It had the ability to heal the sick an injured. Oh, you see that old women over there, you might want to remember her, she’s kind of important. Well century’s passed, and a hop skip and a boat ride away, there grew a kingdom. The kingdom was ruled by a beloved king and queen, and the queen, well she was about to have a baby. But she got sick, really sick.
She was running out of time and that’s when people usually start to look for a miracle, or in this case, a magic golden flower.
Nah I told you she’d be important. You see instead of sharing the suns gift, this woman mother Galfol, hored it’s healing power and used it to keep her self young for a hundred of years, and all she had to do was sing a special song “smell them gleam and glow, let your power shine, make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine, what once was mine.
Alright you get the gist, she sings to it she gets young, creepy, right?

The magic of the golden flower, healed the Queen. A healthy baby girl, a princess was born, with beautiful golden hair. (happy sounds of baby goo goo gaa gaa), (The king chuckles appreciation). I’ll give you a hint, that’s Rapunzel. To celebrate her birth the king and queen launched a flying lantern into the sky. And for that moment, everything was perfect...... and then that moment ended.

With great difficulty Room 18 and I, went over to the hall for badminton, we were all excited it was an very difficult thing to do but we still managed to challenge ourselves. Well, have you ever played Badminton before? "well it sure is a lot of fun." We have been working on are lot of thing's that are very difficult to do for beginners. Most of us did some hard work on our moves that we have been taught.

Doing allot of things that Donna and Lauren has taught us was very hard at first, But then it got even easier. We loved to hit the shuttle under our legs it was really funny at first but when we got used to it we moved on to our next easement. "WOW I could just imagine myself doing it again."

My favourite thing we did was playing over the net it was a really funny activity to do, it was like me trying to pretend that I was an professional. As soon as I herd me name I yelled "YEAH" so I went over on to the court to have my turn. I was a bit nervous at then, well yeah that was my Favourite thing that I did out of all.

WOW it was a very exciting sport that we had manage to do. After a long practices we all love to play badminton, it is the second sport I like in all sports. I LOVE BADMINTON!!

This week the year seven’s and eight’s had Cross Country. Some competitors were nervous and some were confident. I was ready because I didn't feel neither of them cause I am an year six and my job was to be a marshal, to make sure all the competitors go the right way, it was fun. While the competitors came past I cheered and clapped for them for courage. Finlay Cross Country was over, meeting everyone back at the courts to see who made it in to the intermediate zone.

Egg Cracking Assignment

On Monday afternoon Room 18 and I went over to the street, for our topic assignment. Our assignment was about who could not make the egg crack when it is inside the straws. The things that we used were 10 straws, 8 Ice-block sticks, 5 Rubber bands and also masking tap. As soon as Mrs Nua finished talking to us we got a sheet from her, we had to design our egg holder so that it does not crack.
With great difficulty we had to finish off our design so that we can get our things together. After a while we had to go up and get all of our stuff. We decided to wrap the egg inside the 8 straws, 8 Ice block sticks, 5 rubber bands and also the masking tap, it looked very funny and funky. Luckily I looked over my shoulder and saw the 2 straws. As soon as I looked back I said to my friends “how about the two left over straws.”
We had the opportunity to discover a way to communicate in the egg assignment. We had to do the assignment so that we could discover a way to not make the egg crack inside the equipment. We had an exciting time.

For the past few weeks, our class has been learning how to play Netball. We have been training with a skilled netball tutor named Emma. Emma is a really talented person.
We have been learning passing skills and shooting skills. Before we actually played a real game of netball, we spent weeks practicing new and exciting techniques. After practicing how to play netball on the second to last week with Emma,we played a real game. We all enjoyed ourselves!
Netball was extremely awesome, even if the boys contacted and stepped with the ball. Our class really enjoyed being with Emma. We had an awesome time!

First day of term 2

The sun is shinning the birds are singing, “it’s time for me to go to school” I said to myself. With great difficulty I got ready to school, as soon as I walk through the gate all of a sadden I heard the bell ring “RING RING RING!” “What was that I said to my friends” “well” they said, it’s time for the year 8’s and 7’s to go to technology. Have you ever bee to technology? I wonder what it feels like, well I've never been there myself. “Lets get back to the story.”

As soon as the second bell rang I felt so excited because I wonted to see what the topic for term 2 was going to be about. After are while Room 18 and I went to the hall for our Immersion Assembly. When Mr Burt walked through the door of the hall, most of the students could heir a huff and puffing sound, I thought that was really freaky, he was also greased in a black sauté even a black mask.

However Mr Burt called the team one teachers to come up on stage to perform their item, the best thing I liked about there item was the sandwiches, popcorn and also my favorite carrot. Unfortunately some of the students didn’t like the Vegemite sandwiches, that Mrs Wild had mad with her son. Not so long after Mrs Wild came to Mary and I, we were nervously trying to pick out the one we liked most. I thought that was are very delicious sandwiches that I have just eaten. In the middle of the sandwiches it had letters butter Vegemite.

Having An Great Time At Tamaki Collage

Heaving the opportunist to go to Tamaki Collage. We really enjoyed all the good times that we had together. We appreciate all of the activities that they did with us, and we all enjoyed the time we were able to spend with each other.
We loved the activities that you played with us, even though some of them were very scary. My favorite, was the enjoyment I got from just being together with everyone in my group.
WOW!! Most of the activities that we did were about fitness, and were some of the best things I have ever done! What do you do for your personal fitness? I enjoy sporting things like this very much, and don’t get to do them nearly often enough.
I’m sure everyone would like to go back to the College again. I loved working with the school, and I know that I would like to go back, because as I said earlier...these were some of the best things I have ever had the opportunity to participate in. “I hope we meet again.”

Demolished Dental Clinic

With the completion of our new dental clinic. Sadly our old dental clinic has got demolished. First the builder weakened by prising off the weather board . In the weekend we had a perfume party at home. First we went to the shop to by some biscuits and then my auntie asked the shop keeper if she could come but unfortunately she couldn't come to the party because she had to work. So then we went back home to do our washing.

Immersion Assembly

Today we were inside the hall for our Immersion Assembly. This term we are learning about Little Critters. Which is about insects like spiders, snails and worms. Have you ever learnt about insects? Well it seems like it well be fun.

My favourite part about this term’s theme was team 4’s item. The thing I liked about it was Mr Barks the queen, who was a bee laying eggs. When he was getting fed the worker bees were busy looking after him. There was a feeding one,a cleaning one and a cooling him down.

My second best item was team one’s because they were doing Incy wincy spider. The ting I liked most about their item was when they were doing the spider legs. It was fun when they had pictures up on the screen of spider man. Unexpectedly Miss George had a spider man mask on her face. I felt a little tingle go through my brain saying that this term was going to be great O

Prize Giving

On Saturday the year 4’s 5’s 6’s and 7’s had prize giving over at the netball courts.
First we had to go to school and get changed into our netball uniform and head to the courts. So then we went to the van and we went down to the courts. When we got to the van ‘’I asked my Nana if we could take two people and she said yes’’ So then we all hopped into the car and left.

As soon as we got there I was nervous because it was my first time going to the Netball Prize giving at the Auckland netball courts. How would you have felt if you were me?

When we finished we went to take some photos at the black curtain but there was no space for us so then we went to the chairs and we went up stairs to get us a Ice block. But there weren't any more so then we just went back to school and Miss Jarmaine said that she would get us an ice block on Monday.

On Wednesday the over tens and under tens went to Dunkirk for our tournament. This tournament was all about our soccer game. It was fun because it was my first time playing soccer. Have you ever played soccer before? Well when I first played I was going to have fun so I did. ‘’I wonder how you would have felt?’’.

When we started our first game I was getting used to it and we started to win.After our game we went to watch the under tens but they had lost. Next we went to our game and we had a draw between the other school and our school. We had about seven or eight games and we won four games.

Laura Dekker, a 14 year old girl from Holland set off from Gibraltar in her quest to destroy Jessica Watson’s world record. Laura wants to become the youngest sailor to circumnavigate the world solo. Laura Dekker’s first destination will take her to the Island of Madeira then to the Canary Islands.

Making Donut’s.

In the weekend my brother, auntie, uncle and I went to make some donuts in East Tamaki which is in Otara. My first time I had made donuts was about one week ago. Have you ever made donuts before? We also had to wake up at eleven o’clock at night for it.
When I got there I didn’t know what to do. But my auntie said to peel the potatoes for the minus to sell it at the Market. (Minus is like potato salad) So I did. As soon as we finished I went to cover the chilly bin. The next minute I went to porpor. Porpor is like you rub the donut together and make it into a circle and then you are finished. When you have finished porpor the next thing you do is you have to oil the tray and stick the donuts on. After the dough rises you poke your finger into it and wriggle it around and then it should make a donut. So then you put it into the oil to cook and then you stick it in to the chilly bin.

Cross Country

On the twentieth of August the whole of Point England School had our school cross country. It was on the top field next to the Reserve.

Before the race began I was feeling nervous as we were clumped together in our age lines. Suddenly the clappers banged. We charged off down the field. I left people behind me during the race, I tried not to stop so I didn’t.

When I came out the gate I could feel the lumpy mud stuck in between my toes and it was squashy, slimy and also smelly. Have you ever had cross country at your school before? At the finish I felt so thirsty and happy that I came fourth. Finally cross country was over.

The violent wind whipped spray off thew sea, slapping Jesse Martin’s face like an angry lady. His hands were so numb, he couldn’t feel any thing. As the strong wind was blowing his face he was trying to walked to the bow but unfortunately he had stumbled. So he almost tripped over board.

As Jesse was grinding the winch the wind was howling in front of his boat. When the wind was howling his face was freezing cold. With a heavy heart the wind held and started to push and push hard onto his boat and nearly tipped him overboard. when the wind nearly blow Jesse overboard so he yelled out so loud so the wind got calm.

Immersion Assembly

Yesterday morning the whole of Point England school went inside the school hall and had our Immersion Assembly. Because it was the first day of term 3. Every first term we have Immersion Assembly's on the first day.

As soon as we were all seated our Immersion Assembly began.I was excited to see what we were going to learn about for term 3.This term we are learning about Mighty Mariners.

I liked the part when team 1 showed us there item for the whole school it was all about Kupe to sailing to New Zealand. What item did you like Point England's?I liked team 2 because Mrs She and Miss Burns it was so funny because of Mrs she.

This term we are learning about Might Mariners and I am feeling so excited to see what I will be learning in class.In the Immersion Assembly I really liked team 2 item because of mrs She's Funny voice.

On Saturday night me and my family watched the game of rugby and it was the wales Vs All Blacks playing. I really liked the part when we got our first try because the person who got the first try was my favorite player. Have you ever played rugby before? well I haven't played rugby before but I tried to play but I didn't go to all me practices because of all me netball training. We watched the game at home on sky.

In the middle of the game I started to cheer because we were losing. The next minute we were getting heaps of tries but we were still losing. Finally we had won on the second half.

I really felt so excited because we had won.

After morning tea, room fifteen were sitting down in the walkway. I saw lots of bikes on the field, and I thought we were going to ride them. I was right we were goin to ride the bike!The next moment this man called Tony came to teach us about bike safety. I was so excited! Tony came from big foot adventures. Our first course was ramps it looks very cool. Carefully I manoeuvred over the ramps and zigzagged around the cones of the obstacle course.''When are we changing courses Miss Squires?'' I puffed I pushed my self to the limit as I jumped the ramp with my back wheel went in the air, But I nearly fractured my leg.

Suddenly Tony moved to another course on the hard court, where you need to use our intercedes which were our hand signals.So we left to go to Sometime new. we had to look back and see what was on the picture Tony was holding. So I Quickly turn back around to say what was on the picture and do our hand signal.(I found it easy but I had to concentrate)
Finally we did a slow-motion race and who ever comes last wins and you have to keep your balance. Me and Rita were the winers!

I Wish the foot people will come back again! I also felt sory for Brooklyn when the bike fell on to her. I will also say Are big THANK-YOU TONY AND ADRIEN!

Room14 and 15 played capture the flag. First Miss King explained us the rules.After that she divided us into teams. Then we went out and played but Miss King told me to go and get the flags but I got the wrong ones. When I got back to the class Crusader already had the flags so finally we started to play. All of room 14 and 15 where waiting for us to bring the flag. When we got on the field we were all excited because we had never played the game before. Miss King set up Capture the flag for us while we where waiting for her. When she told us to go we were all screaming. It was a tactical game and Logan went running for the flag. He was the first to get the flag to our side. When room 15 got a score we were all happy. When I went for the flag Mary L. tugged me, it was like she slapped me. Luckily Mary I. came to save me so I went to go and get the flag. I made it to flag and finally I got there because Kingston P. was chasing me. When I got the flag I was happy because nobody will give the flag to me. When I got to the other side we got score finally we had finished the game because I was exhausted and sweaty. As soon as I went to lunch I could smell the Iron Brian burgers so I thought to myself that I could live in burger land. Do you like burgers? I do. The next moment it was our turn to go and see Iron Brian my favorite part was when we had to count up to ten and Iron Brian ran out of the right side of the corner on the stage. I even like the part when we did the Iron Brian dance and when we had a challenged with the other people and had our burgers.

As I was waiting nervously for the bowling ball to come closer I looked forward and it smashed me on my head so I yelled OUCH!! Then I fell over onto the side so the bowling ball rolled through the gutter. The next moment it was time for the next person to have their turn it was even harder. So the bowling ball went right onto my head and made me go right through the gutter with the ball.

In The Holidays

In the holidays I went to this place I had no idea what it was called. As I went to the front I could see what it was it was called. It was called The Trampoline Center in Mangere. My favorite part was when my I went to see my Nana and she locked the car keys inside the car. After a little moment my auntie came and parked in front of my nanas car then I went home with my auntie. She asked me if my Nana had a phone to ring up someone who had the spare keys.
